How Much Do We Know About "汉奸"？

I was honestly shocked when I saw my father's review on Lust, Caution as well as his comments on Lee Ang. I thought after what he had been through, he should at least be a little more tolerable than average Chinese. I couldn't believe he actually felt that the movie should no have passed Chinese censorship because of its underlying treachery. Is this the same person who told me ten years ago that every human being had rights to speak up freely? What happened? I posted his remarks here:

围绕"色戒"的争论使我想到两个问题：第一，民族感情、民族尊严、民族道义这种东西是否存在？如果存在是否具有普遍性，或者说这种东西仅为中国人所独有，还是各个国家都有？看来答案还是：这种东西似乎具有某种普遍性，不单中国人有，外国人也有。远的不说，以近年发生的"9.11"事件为例，在本拉登一炸之下，美国的男女老少被动员起来，同仇敌忾，跟着小布什去打阿富汗，打伊拉克。如果谁在美国替本拉登说好话，恐怕很难得到大多数美国人认可，弄不好还会"吃生活"。可见，各个民族或国家的民众在情感道德上，多多少少存在一个共同的界线，来区分孰是孰非。汉奸，历来为中国人所不齿，象秦桧夫妇，只配铸成铁人跪在岳王墓前任人唾骂。不管从史实中能不能为秦桧找出某些理由，不管为他翻案的文章写得怎样花团锦蔟，这个现实怕是改不过来了。也许中国人在民族大义方面比外国人偏执一些，但也算不上什么过错。值得注意的是，在"色戒"的争论中，中国人长期坚守的道义底线被模糊、被颠扑了。在一些人看来，同情汉奸有理，而维护忠奸义利之辨反而无理了，这背后究竟是什么原因呢？第二，中国是一个言论管制的社会，而不是一个言论自由的社会。为了保证全体人民享受到"先进文化"，报刊、舞台、影视、网络样样受到审查，不少文章书籍和艺术作品遭禁。在这样森严的罗网下，"色戒"居然得以登场且受到大肆追捧，这又说明什么呢？中国的文化政策究竟要走到那里去？青山有幸埋忠骨，白铁何辜铸倿臣。这副贴在岳庙秦桧夫妇跪象前的对子，恐怕大多数中国人读了，都会感到凛然肃然。李安作为一个美国人（猜想他已入美国籍），当然不能要求他与中国人同感。他要写出自己想表达的东西（据说是中年性困扰引起的），我们也无法禁止，甚至无法评论。但一个外国人，不远万里来到中国，拍摄并兜售一部美化汉奸的片子，得到有关部门放行，又得到不少人吹捧，就有点奇怪了。是不是在这些人眼里，他是为发展为咱们的“先进文化”作贡献来了？我以为问题的要害在这里。

When the movie first came out in the states, the New York Times gave it a bitter 1-star and I thought it was the most ridiculous piece of review I've ever read. But now, when I realized that my parents and people of their generation also totally denounced the film but in a totally different way, I am scared. Am I the only one who thinks nationalism is the cheapest propaganda used to brain wash people? Why can't we just look at things the way they are and try to understand others as pure human being？
